Author Interviews

Download a PDF of our interviews with some of Librarians’ Choice’s favourite Australian authors.

Sally Thorne

Sally Thorne lives in Canberra, Australia and spends her days writing funding submissions and drafting contracts (yawn!) so it's not surprising that after hours she climbs into colorful fictional worlds of her own creation. Sally believes that romance readers are always searching for intensity in their next favorite book - and it isn't always so easy to find. 99 Percent Mine is her second novel.

Kirsten Alexander

Kirsten Alexander was born in San Francisco, raised in Brisbane, and now lives in Melbourne with her partner and two sons. Half Moon Lake is her first published novel.

Janet Lee

Winner of the Emerging Writer Manuscript Award at the 2017 Queensland Literary Awards, The Killing Of Louisa author Janet Lee reflects on the inspiration behind her latest novel. Janet lives in South East Queensland with two dogs, 13 very spoilt chickens and her family, who periodically come home to graze.

Markus Zusak

Markus Zusak is one of Australia’s most beloved and successful authors. The Book Thief spent more than a decade on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into more than forty languages. He spoke to us about his much-anticipated new novel, Bridge of Clay.
